This picture we took shows exactly the kind of enigmas we want to create from our location. The marks on the walls show the possible insanity of our main character, and how he may not be able to cope with life very well. The walls may be a metaphor for his state of mind, and how he is confused and may lash out at times. The marks on the walls may be him expressing himself, and trying to escape his murky lifestyle.
The cracked mirror in this picture also shows the possible insanity or fierce mind state of our main character. He may not be able to stand the site of himself, hence the broken mirror. This may also show that he doesn’t believe in bad luck, or doesn’t care if it happens to him, since many people believe breaking a mirror causes bad luck or bad things to happen to someone. The broken glass around the room also shows danger, as sharp objects are part of typical iconography usually associated with thriller films.
The huge holes in the door remind us of other similar films held in a house such as ‘The Shining’ (Dir. Stanley Kubrick, 1980) where Jack Nicholson’s character goes mad. The holes also show a sign of madness, and that the house has not been cared for very well. The holes in the doors symbolize that a person living here does not care about protection or the well being of the house.
